In 1967, Berry Material Handling was established as a separate division of Berry Companies, Inc., as a distributor for Eaton Yale & Towne (Yale fork lifts), Inca Metal Products (storage racks), Equipment Company of America (Aluminum dock boards & ramps), and Harper Trucks (two wheel hand trucks). Berry Companies, Inc. includes other divisions - Berry Tractor & Equipment Co. and White Star Machinery & Supply Co. Over 40 years later, Berry Material Handling is the full service distributor for a large group of material handling and industrial equipment manufacturers including the original Yale fork lifts. A few covers of issues we published through the years are shown below. Our publication was named "The Lifter" in 1983. What started as a division with one location in Wichita, has grown into 3 locations today with Topeka, Garden City, and Wichita, Kansas. Our basic mission has been to build an equipment distribution organization which is recognized by its customers as providing high value equipment and outstanding product support. We plan to continue this mission for many years to come.
